Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world, so regular skin checks are vital for early detection. At ZH Doctors Carseldine, our doctors provide comprehensive skin cancer care – full-body skin checks, diagnosis, treatment and education.

Why regular skin checks matter

Skin cancer often develops without pain or symptoms, but most skin cancers are highly treatable when caught early. You may be at higher risk if you have:

  • Fair skin, freckles or light-coloured eyes
  • A history of sunburn or tanning
  • A personal or family history of skin cancer
  • Many or unusual moles
  • A weakened immune system

Our skin cancer services include

  • Full-body skin checks using dermoscopy
  • Mole monitoring and photography
  • Biopsy of suspicious moles or lesions
  • Cryotherapy (freezing) of sunspots and pre-cancerous lesions
  • Surgical excision of skin cancers
  • Referral to dermatologists and plastic surgeons when required
  • Ongoing skin surveillance for patients with a history of skin cancer
